5 Easy Crock Pot Meals for the Back to School Rush


 

School is in full swing now for most of us, and the busy schedules have began.  Between school car lines, work, Fall sports, homework and housework, busy parents everywhere are asking themselves, “Why can’t there be more hours in a day?!” These five easy crock pot meals will help you ditch the fast food lines and enjoy a nice home cooked meal at your convenience. Just toss in the ingredients, turn the crock pot on, and you are done and can move on to the next task you must complete. 

Chicken Fajita

 These are amazing fajitas. They are very filling and taste delicious!

 

 Prep Time 10 minutes

 Cook Time 6 hours

 Total Time 6 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 package of fajita seasoning
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 onion

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the crock pot.
  2. Pour the fajita seasoning on top of the chicken.
  3. Cut up the peppers and onions and place on top of the chicken and seasoning mixture.
  4. Cook on low for 6 hours.

Serve on tortillas.

 

Mississippi Pot Roast

            If you have never had Mississippi Pot Roast you have missed out up until this point. It is delicious and is always a satisfying meal. This goes nicely with creamed potatoes as a side.

 

 Prep Time 10 minutes

 Cook Time 8 hours

 Total Time 8 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3-4 pound roast
  • 1 package of au jus mix
  • 1 package of ranch mix
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 8-10 pepperoncini peppers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place roast in crock pot.
  2. Add au jus mix, ranch mix, butter, and peppers around roast.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

 

Italian Chicken

            This is one of the easiest meals you will ever make. With only two ingredients you will be so shocked at how tasty this is with a side salad.

 

 Prep Time 5 minutes

 Cook Time 3 ½  hours

 Total Time 3 hours 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 16 oz. bottle of Wish-Bone Italian Dressing

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in crock pot.
  2. Pour Italian dressing over chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 3 ½ hours.

 

Ranch Pork Chops

These pork chops are so tender. The gravy that the ranch and soup make together is wonderful! This is always a family favorite.

 

 Prep Time 10 minutes

 Cook Time 6 hours

 Total Time 6 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4-6 boneless pork chops
  • 2 (10 oz.) cans of cream of chicken soup
  • 1 package of ranch mix

Instructions

  1. Place pork chops in crock pot.
  2. Pour cream of chicken soup over the pork chops.
  3. Sprinkle ranch mix over soup.

Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.

 

Spaghetti

            Spaghetti is always a hit. You can feed it to anyone of any age and more than likely they will love it. Bonus for moms with picky eaters!

 

 Prep Time 15 minutes

 Cook Time 3 hours

 Total Time 3 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon dry minced onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup pasta sauce
  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 1 1/2 cups spaghetti broken into

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in skillet then place inside of a well greased crock pot.

Cover and cook on high for 3 hours, stirring in the dry spaghetti during the last hour.
